What the experience is all about
If you are based in Kuala Lumpur and are looking to escape the city for a weekend, look no further than Chengal Hill Retreat in Janda Baik, Pahang.
With it’s higher altitude and cooler temperatures, Janda Baik is a popular destination among city folks. It’s set amidst a small valley, surrounded by thick rainforest and connected with calming streams with cool water from the hills. Experience life in a simple Malay kampung setting, with traditional local food, chickens running around, while enjoying understated sincere hospitality.
Chengal Hill Retreat is a beautiful kampung style retreat, providing a few different accommodation possibilities, each special in their own way, and suited to different needs. If you are interested in roughing it, opt for their camping or glamping tents. If you would like a more relaxing and comfortable experience, their prime chalets are the way to go. There are also unique Apache huts to choose from, all with the sounds of flowing streams to calm you. Each chalet is built with beautiful chengal wood, beautifully designed in Malay architecture style.
Chengal Hill Retreat is a perfect place for family gatherings, as its grounds provide a safe space for children to play in shallow water, while adults cook up a hearty meal on the barbecue pits.
